It has been a long time since I have posted anything about biking, though I have been riding a 'fair amount'.
Rambling thoughts while biking:
The grass is growing high, dark and green.
The shadows on the trail hide twigs, rocks, puddles.
With so much wind there are all manner of debris on the trail, that can easily flip into and wreck your dérailleur.
Birds are singing and flying around everywhere, but only within 50m of water.
Between 2 bodies of water, the ducks and especially the geese, have worn in trails just like the beaver do, and they leave lots of turds everywhere.
I must keep my mouth closed because of the 4.8 #fatbike tires size flinging up (crap) from cows, horses, and geese.
I did not see any moose, elk, or deer indications on this ride. They are elsewhere in the park.
I saw a dozen cattle run through a 3 strand barb wire fence. Cows are not jumpers though they made an attempt. Not sure what spooked them.
When you ride through just a few feet of mud and it stays in your tires is a weird feeling. Its like riding wheels that are out of round.
Some may say 200 miles per week, and some like me, will say 'X' number of hours per week, at a given heart rate, which is far more important. Some of us may only be riding at under 10km per hour, but over 80% of our average heart rate for hours on end.
Spring time ride on gravel.
I always look forward to riding in the mountains.
This hill is far steeper then it looks. My bear spray is also very handy.
This is known as a back scratcher and you better be ready to stop!
Testing different #bikepacking setups for day rides, as well as futures tours.
Beaver have been very busy and I am wondering, why?
This cabin is always a nice place to go to either in the winter or the summer.
The beaver have flooded this trail as well.
This is at a different cabin and you can see where the horses are able to tie up.
