#Fatbike #training and #riding

We just try to ride away from traffic as much as possible. These are a few pictures as we venture out into nature and the trails.
Riding on sand was a new experience for us, but we treated it like snow and we were ready to go. We will do this some more too.
When the winds come and blow down trees then you do more walking then riding.  :)
Loading up the bikes and doing some local tenting is a good experience.

Sand riding and hot was good practice for our planned bikepacking trip.
Set up in my sisters backyard who lives on an acreage.

About the highest elevation around, lol.

Ready to leave from the house.

The wind bows and the trees fall. We move what trees we can.

nature when we can.

Bicycle Commuting considerations and a few pics.

It is always interesting to take a different way to work. However time is normally critical. and has to be watched.
Trains or LRT's will slow you down.

Watching way ahead to not hit any lights is important and you need to be ready to sprint if need be. I like trying to hit lights just as they are turning yellow, so you do not have much traffic passing you for a few minutes.

Knowing which way the winds are coming will also affect your choice of route. If traffic will break the wind for you, that is great otherwise I tend to go into the river valley when it is windy.
Make sure you have the right gearing sure helps and that they are adjusted properly. I use almost all my gears (21) in every ride.

Food takes up a lot of space and weight, so if you have some food already at work that helps.
Work clothing, and boots all need to be considered.
You need water if the ride goes over the hour.

You should also figure time in for showering and stretching before work.

Tire pressure and the size of rim and tires should be considered, depending on the roughness of the roads.

The temperature will also affect your time as changing conditions will cause to you add or subtract clothing layers. For now however the temperatures and rain have ok.
