12 Reasons why I like riding a #Fatbike over other kinds of #bicycles.

FATBIKES are for YEAR ROUND USE

1) In soft conditions I can get into the back country without ripping up or sinking into the terrain much, as I can play with the tire air pressure.
2) It takes a lot more steering input into the handlebars which works all the stomach muscles. This also applies on harder terrain when you are loaded up for #bikepacking and especially in soft conditions.

3) You do not cover nearly as much terrain so that means your playgrounds (bicycling areas) does not need to be nearly as large for you to have fun and not get bored with local terrain.
4) If something does go wrong, then a rescue is a lot closer. :)
5) Your speed is a lot slower so the chance of getting hurt is lessened. My speed is in the range of two to two half times slower.

6) You will feel safer riding on a Fatbike as balance is easier.
7) A Fatbike is still very unique in most places and you will get a lot of questions about it, if you wish the attention of that sort of thing. (Canada Day and handing out candy)

8) You feel like you are riding a tank and can roll over just about anything  at least the perception is sort of true.

9) You will receive a very good total upper body work out when lifting, or pushing your bike uphill or over fallen trees and other objects blocking the trail.

10) Your leg muscles will get a very good workout. Even after Nordic skiing, both classic and skate during the winter, my cycling muscles will hurt for a few weeks after the snow is gone and I am Fatbiking.
11) You can ride the Fatbike all year long in more various weather and road conditions. 11a) Ride with others who are running because you cannot run anymore. If wifey runs and I fatbike my HR is over 120 and that is all I look for.
12) Nature Biking, being outside and getting fresh air is so much fun because you are going slower and see and hear more of what is happening around you. I love seeing animals in their natural habitat.
13) Bonus People always want to talk with you about your bike or in general because they trust you.

After saying all this the most important thing is just get out and ride, walk, etc., whatever you have, on whatever kind of bike you have.! Fresh air, trees, flowers, it's all about being healthy and enjoying yourself without interfering with others.
HAVE FUN!!

I am adding a bit more as I have and do ride a few other kinds of bicycles.
This was my Raleigh Pro with all Campy and tubular tires(Barum or Continental tires) from the mid 70's which I used to climb up the Sulfur trail(42-26) was low gear. The picture is down town BANFF AB in the back wheel of my bicycle. I also rode this bike from Vancouver to Montreal, Ontario and Quebec and along the west coast from California to Vancouver, to say nothing about racing it.
